SOVIET GENOCIDE IN UKRAINE

I have reproduced below, excerpts from "Soviet Genocide in the Ukraine", the last chapter of a monumental History of Genocide, written in the 1950s by the Jewish-Polish scholar Raphael Lemkin. Unfortunately, the monograph has  not yet been published and the chapter on Ukraine is known only to a few Lemkin scholars. The whole chapter (12 double-spaced pages) on Ukraine will soon be published in the original English language in the USA and eventually in other languages, in other countries.

Lemkin¹s text deserves special attention by the Ukrainian community as it commemorates the 75th anniversary of the tragic events. It should be noted that Lemkin, the developed the concept and coined the term ³genocide², applies it to the destruction of the Ukrainian nation and not just Ukrainian

peasants. Lemkin speaks of: a) the decimation of the Ukrainian national elites, b) destruction of the Orthodox Church, c) the starvation of the Ukrainian farming population, and d) its replacement with non-Ukrainian population from the RSFSR as integral components of the same genocidal process.

The only dimension that is missing in Lemkin¹s excellent analysis is the destruction of the 8,000,000 ethnic Ukrainians living on the eve of the genocide in the Russian Republic (RSFSR).

As Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora commemorates, in the coming months of October and Novembe,r the 75th anniversary of the Genocide against the Ukrainians, it should be inspired by the all-encompassing approach to the analysis of the great Ukrainian catastrophe by the father of the concept of genocide and the man who did most to have it enshrined in the UN Convention of 1948. Lemkin¹s pereception of the Ukrainian genocide is a solid recommendation to the UN Assembly to finally recognize the Ukrainian tragedy for what it was ‹ ³a case of genocide, the destruction of a nation.²

What I want to speak about is perhaps the classic example of Soviet genocide, its longest and broadest experiment in Russification ­ the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. [Š]

 

[Š] As long as Ukraine retains its national unity, as long as its people continue to think of themselves as Ukrainians and to seek independence, so long Ukraine poses a serious threat to the very heart of Sovietism. It is no wonder that the Communist leaders have attached the greatest importance to the Russification of this independent[-minded] member of their ³Union of Republics,² have determined to remake it to fit their pattern of one Russian nation. For the Ukrainian is not and has never been, a Russian. His culture, his temperament, his language, his religion ­ all are different. [Š]

 

Ukraine is highly susceptible to racial murder by select parts and so the Communist tactics there have not followed the pattern taken by the German attacks against the Jews. The nation is too populous to be exterminated completely with any efficiency. However, its leadership, religious, intellectual, political, its select and determining parts, are quite small and therefore easily eliminated, and so it is upon these groups particularly that the full force of the Soviet axe has fallen, with its familiar tools of

mass murder, deportation and forced labor, exile and starvation.

 

The attack has manifested a systematic pattern, with the whole process repeated again and again to meet fresh outburst of national spirit. The first blow is aimed at the intelligentsia, the national brain, so as to paralyze the rest of the body. [Š]

 

Going along with this attack on the intelligentsia was an offensive against the churches, priests and hierarchy, the ³soul² of Ukraine. Between 1926 and 1932, the Ukrainian Orthodox Autocephalous Church, its Metropolitan (Lypkivsky) and 10,000 clergy were liquidated. [Š]

The third prong of the Soviet plan was aimed at the farmers, the large mass of independent peasants who are the repository of the tradition, folk lore and music, the national language and literature, the national spirit, of Ukraine. The weapon used against this body is perhaps the most terrible of all ­ starvation. Between 1932 and 1933, 5,000,000 Ukrainians starved to death, an inhumanity which the 73rd Congress decried on May 28, 1934. There has been an attempt to dismiss this highpoint of Soviet cruelty as an economic policy connected with the collectivization of the wheatlands, and the elimination of the kulaks, the independent farmers was therefore necessary. The fact is, however, that large-scale farmers in Ukraine were few and far-between.

As a Soviet writer Kossior [error: Kosior was party boss of Ukraine ­ R.S.] declared in Izvestiia on December 2, 1933, ³Ukrainian nationalism is our chief danger,² and it was to eliminate that nationalism, to establish the horrifying uniformity of the Soviet state that the Ukrainian peasantry was sacrificed. The method used in this part of the plan was not at all restricted to any particular group. All suffered ­ men, women, children. The crop that year was ample to feed the people and livestock of Ukraine, though it had fallen off somewhat from the previous year, a decrease probably due in large measure to the struggle over collectivization. But a famine was necessary for the Soviet[s] and so they got one to order, by plan, through an unusually high grain allotment to the state as taxes. To add to this, thousands of acres of wheat were never harvested, were left to rot in the fields. The rest was sent to government granaries to be stored there until the authorities had decided how to allocate it. Much of this crop, so vital to the lives of the Ukrainian people, ended up as exports for the creation of credits abroad.

 

In the face of famine on the farms, thousands abandoned the rural areas and moved into the towns to beg [for] food. Caught there and sent back to the country, they abandoned their children in the hope that they at least might survive. In this way, 18,000 children were abandoned in Kharkiv alone. Villages of a thousand had a surviving population of a hundred; in others, half the populace was gone, and deaths in these towns ranged from 20 to 30 per day. Cannibalism became commonplace.

The fourth step in the process consisted in the fragmentation of the Ukrainian people at once by the addition to the Ukraine of foreign peoples and by the dispersion of the Ukrainians throughout Eastern Europe. In this way, ethnic unity would be destroyed and nationalities mixed. [Š]

 

These have been the chief steps in the systematic destruction of the Ukrainian nation. Notably, there have been no attempts at complete annihilation, such as was the method of the German attack on the  Jews. And yet, if the Soviet program succeeds completely, if the intelligentsia, the priests and the peasants can be eliminated, Ukraine will be as dead as if every Ukrainian were killed, for it will have lost that part of it which has kept and developed its culture, its beliefs, its common ideas, which have

guided it and given it a soul, which, in short, made it a nation rather than a mass of people.

 

The mass, indiscriminate murders have not, however, been lacking ­ they have simply not been integral parts of the plan, but only chance variations. Thousands have been executed, untold thousands have disappeared into the certain death of Siberian labor camps.

[Š] This is not simply a case of mass murder. It is a case of genocide, of destruction, not of individuals only, but of a culture and a nation. [Š] Soviet national unity is being created, not by any union of ideas and of cultures, but by the complete destruction of all cultures and of all ideas save one ­ the Soviet.

Sweden – A raped country

Today’s text is a translation (by Utlandssvensk – a Swede in exile) of a column written by a renowned Swedish journalist. This journalist has been writing one column a week on the Danish website Snaphanen since after the Swedish election in September 2010. She has to write under the pseudonym of Julia Caesar (the late actress in the mid 20^th century) in order not to be harassed by Sweden’s “do-gooders”, journalists, politicians and in particular AFA/Antifa.

Sweden – A raped country

A beautiful summer is coming to an end. But it was not beautiful for everybody. During this summer, the number of reported rapes has increased with 25% compared to the same period last year.

According to BRA (a government agency supposedly tasked with preventing crimes) a total of 1091 rapes were reported during June and July. Rape of children under the age of 15 has increased with 53%, from 192 cases last year to 294 this year, again only for June and July. In total, sexual crimes increased by 18% compared to the same period last year. BRA believes that the reason for all of this is the beautiful summer weather:

“One explanation for this increase may be partly due to the nice weather this summer,” according to Sven Granath, investigator at BRA.

Those are the words of a civil servant that has become totally politically correct. I pray for his soul. He works at a government agency that is fully funded by taxpayers and considers that his mission is to hide the truth and administer tranquilizers to both the general population and the ruling government. In a dictatorship, BRA would be called The Board for making non desirable facts invisible. But what is really the difference? Sweden is approaching the condition that is a typical for a dictatorship, i.e. government agencies that hide the truth from common citizens and a media that is loyal to the government and considers the promotion of state sponsored lies to be its mission.

The truth has a price

Perhaps Mr. Granath is afraid of losing his job, which would be understandable. Maybe he is pondering the fate that befell Mr. Mauricio Rojas, spokesman for the liberal party regarding immigration, after he published an article in the DN (a major daily newspaper) that highlighted the underlying cultural reasons for the massive overrepresentation of immigrants among criminals.

Mr. Rojas was made persona non grata in politics and was subjected to slander, intimidation and threats and came to require 24 hour bodyguard protection. Originally, he arrived in Sweden 1974 as a political refugee from Chile, but in 2008 he was forced to flee since he had, once again, become an irritation for a totalitarian regime. He moved to Spain and is today the headmaster of the Madrid School of Integration.

Truth has a price. The practice of killing the messenger when he brings unwanted news is as old as mankind itself. Perhaps it is the recollection of Mr. Rojas fate that has made Mr. Granath sell his soul on the marketplace of lies and hidden truths. Let us hope that the reward he receives amply compensates for the truths that he has sacrificed.

An “impartial” civil servant

Let us also say a small prayer for Mr. Granath’s co-worker, Mrs. Klara Hradilova-Selin, who serves as an“impartial” expert on rape at BRA and is also a confessed member of the Facebook group “Social Democrats in parliament – No thanks”.

Sorry, that should of course be “Sweden Democrats in parliament – No thanks”. In Sweden, such publicly stated private views are not considered to be a problem for somebody that claims to be politically impartial.

Why are persons with foreign backgrounds regarded as impartial when it comes to issues regarding immigration? Increasingly, they are marching as frontline soldiers fighting for multiculture at all levels of society. Nobody dares to argue against them, since you would then be labeled as “hostile to strangers”. Is there anybody that believes that Mrs. Hradilova-Selin’s immigrant background does not affect her and causes scientific bias when it comes to questions about the statistical overrepresentation of immigrants as perpetrators of crime? Mrs. Hradilova-Selin delivered an excellent example of the fine art of truth bending when she was interviewed on SVT Rapport (state broadcaster news show).

We are informed that female rape victims simply are prejudiced (implicitly racist) when they claim that the perpetrator has dark hair. People that are subjected to serious crimes remember events wrongly and are controlled by preconceived notions. Women that get their lives and genitals thrashed by Ahmed from Iraq or Mustafa from Somalia must be made to realize that their recollection is flawed. In actual fact, it was the light blonde Kalle (typical Swedish name) that committed the heinous crime. Hallelujah! What an enormous comfort for a woman that had been subjected to the worst possible form of degradation.

Thank you, BRA! Thank you, Mr.Granath and Mrs. Klara Hradilova-Selin. You are doing your job as useful idiots exactly as expected and you will surely receive a medal for long and faithful service to the public lies.

Immigrants overrepresented by 450 percent

What Mrs. Hradilova-Selin is saying is remarkable, since it contradicts BRA’s own research. Two major reports, “Crime among first and second generation immigrants, 1996:2” and “Crime among persons born in Sweden and abroad, 2005:17”, show that immigrants are heavily overrepresented among criminals. These are facts. In general, they are overrepresented by a bit more that 100 percent. But when it comes to more serious crimes, such as murder, manslaughter and assault on strangers, immigrants are overrepresented by 400 – 500 percent. For rape the number is 450 percent.

The person responsible for the two BRA reports, Director Jan Ahlberg, died in 2005 and the moral courage of BRA died with him. Beyond the grave, Mr. Ahlberg can no longer defend himself and the coast is clear for his unscrupulous colleagues to dance on his grave and pretend that his research does not exist. Mrs. Hradilova-Selin does not need to have any fear for repercussions, since the fact that she is both a woman and an immigrant gives her colleagues double reasons to treat her with silk gloves.

Perpetrators from Muslim countries

Immigrants are, of course, not a uniform group and the vast majority of immigrants are committing no crimes at all, while others do it to a very large extent. The largest overrepresentation in crime is displayed by immigrants from Muslim countries like Algeria, Iraq, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia as well as from Chile. The lowest numbers of crimes are committed by immigrants from Western Europe, Southeast Asia, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Since BRA issued its first report in 1996, Sweden has granted permanent residence to more than 700.000 immigrants. In particular, immigration from Muslim countries increased dramatically. With astounding bad judgment and naiveté, both conservative and social democratic governments since the early 70′s have kept the Swedish borders wide open for all sorts of unidentified adventurers, war criminals and other offenders.

Since 96 percent lack identification documents, it is in almost all cases people of unknown identity that are allowed into the country and then granted permanent residency.

Somalis – the largest group of immigrants admitted into Sweden, with an increase of 70 percent since last year – and Iraqis are climbing quickly up the rape scoreboard. But we will never know the truth. Apart from the reports 1996 and 2005, BRA suspended reporting the ethnicity of criminals in their statistics 1994. Such facts are not desirable, no matter how true they are.

Sweden has the second highest rate of rape in the world

Serious crime is increasing to an extent that should keep the government and parliament sleepless at night. Crime is increasing beyond all control. Sweden is a raped and violence-torn country located at the top of international comparisons. According to a report by the UN agency UNDC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) recently, Sweden is at number 2 in the UN statistics with 53.2 reported rapes per 100 000 inhabitants. Only Lesotho, a small country in south Africa, has more reported rapes than Sweden. The league table looks like this:

4. Zimbabwe: 25.6
5. Norway: 19.8
6. Israel: 17.6

Despite the high Swedish number, there are far more cases that go unreported.

“The problem is that hardly any crime has such a proportion of unreported cases as rape. In Sweden, about 80-90 percent of rapes never become known to society. The reluctance to report is partly due to the fact that rape is a crime that is surrounded by shame,” according to Professor Niklas Långström, sex crime researcher at the Karolinska Institute.

Feelings of shame in the victim, that is. That the perpetrators feel shame is likely to be more rare. The Aftonbladet (major daily tabloid) reports the news like this. We can note that the Aftonbladet are demonstrating a highly creative renewal of the art of making headlines “Sweden at the bottom of rape statistics.” At the bottom?? When the article is about the fact that Sweden tops the list with the second highest rape numbers in the world.

Last year, an EU report showed that Sweden has the highest number of reported rapes in the EU. 5937 rapes were reported to the police in 2009. That is up 9 percent from 2008. But statistics on serious crimes should be viewed over the longer term. Since the new millennium, reported rapes have increased by 193 percent. 1975 was the year in which a unanimous Parliament decided that Sweden should be transformed into a multicultural society. One result is an increase in reported rapes since 1975 with an incredible 673 percent. (Graphic: Affe)

Nothing wrong with raping a Swedish girl

Socioeconomic factors are a popular explanation for immigrants being overrepresented in crime. That is, if you are unemployed, poor and live in an ugly concrete tower in the suburbs, it is entirely in order to rape, mug, assault and murder. But already in the BRA report from 1996 it was said:

“Immigrants’ overrepresentation in crime is not explained by an unfavorable distribution of gender, age and location. Added to this is the fact that immigrant overrepresentation in crime cannot be explained by the fact that immigrants are less fortunate than Swedes in terms of socioeconomic status.”

The approach of many Muslim men is that there is nothing wrong in raping Swedish girls and women. In their culture, the man has every right to dispose of the woman as he sees fit. Some young men that were interviewed by the daily DN in response to a gang rape in Rissne outside of Stockholm put it like this:

“It’s not as wrong to rape a Swedish girl as it is to rape an Arab girl, says Hamid. The Swedish girl gets a lot of help afterwards, and she had probably been fucked already. But the Arab girl will get problems with her family. For her it is a great shame to be raped. It is important that she retains her virginity when she marries. “

“It’s far too easy to get a whore … girl, I mean,” says Hamid, and displays an embarrassed smile due to his choice of words. Many immigrant boys go with Swedish girls when they are teenagers. But then when they are to marry, they take a proper woman from their own culture that has not been with any guy. So will I do. I do not have much respect for Swedish girls. You could say that they get fucked until they are broken. “(th DN 11 February 2000).

Rape is a hate crime

Rape and gang rapes are hate crimes committed by men. They are a demonstration of male power and hatred. When immigrants commit rape, it is in most cases a racist hate crime specifically aimed at Swedish girls and women.

The rapes expose deep divisions within the immigrant male psyche. Muslim men with a prehistoric view of women and sexuality living in Western societies suffer a culture shock that apparently can cause a total short-circuit in the brain. Nordic women are independent and have the same value as men.

We dress and do as we like. The power, status and superiority that men enjoy in most of the migrants’ home countries, cannot be collected here. Rape is an expression of frustration and aggression that this arouses in some Muslim men. The women in the new home country are not under his control. Therefore, we are regarded as “whores”, which according to these men’s way of looking at things legitimizes their abuse of us.

But it’s not just the Swedish girls and women who are raped. Immigrant girls are also vulnerable, and for them a rape could mean death. In a culture of honor, it is the woman’s fault if she is raped. She is considered to have attracted the offender, and all the guilt and shame are put upon her. She risks death penalty because she has destroyed the family’s so-called “honor”.

 If a woman would not be a virgin when she marries, it will be disastrous for her and her entire family and relatives. The man has the right to displace her and dissolve the marriage. The whole family’s honor is ruined, and the marriage value of her sisters and female cousins falls drastically. Honor can only be restored by her death.

Cell phone blackmail

The death threat against a woman is present even if she has been raped. In the study that was done last year by the City of Stockholm (Mrs. Kickis Åhré-Älgamo and Mrs.Ulla-Britt Fingal: “Honor related oppression and violence in the City of Stockholm. Report 2009″, University of Stockholm, Department of Social Work) 14 girls over the age of 17 years stated that they had been raped. Only two had filed a police report – twelve had not dared because of the requirement that they should be virgins, which applies in all circumstances. In this group there are also cases of rectal rape as an adaptation to the culture of honor demands that woman should be a virgin.

This placing of guilt has the effect that the crimes are not reported to the police and the perpetrators go free. The perpetrators – in most cases from the same country as the girls – can film the rape with a camera phone and use the images in order to blackmail by threatening to put them on the Internet or show them to the girl’s family. If a woman reveals what she has suffered, she will have signed her own death sentence

Goodbye to safety for women

What is happening to girls and women in Sweden today is that we are gradually forced to restrict our freedom of movement for fear of being raped or subjected to other violence. Safety for women no longer exists.

• You do not go out alone at night.
• You do not take your bike through a dark area.
• You do not take a bus or train home on a Saturday night. You take a taxi.
• You do not take the shortcut through the forest.

This is the dictatorship of fear and lack of freedom. What is happening in today’s Sweden is an extreme anti feminine policy of absolutely intolerable violence and oppression, specifically directed against half of the citizens. The freedom and rights that it has taken Swedish women a century to achieve have been sold out by parliament and the government. If we start from BRA’s estimate that only 5-10 percent of committed rapes are reported to the police, there are 30.000-60.000 girls and women who are raped each year. Swedish politicians thus annually offer 30.000-60.000 women as sacrificial lamb on the bloody altar of multiculturalism. They obviously think that multiculturalism is worth it. What the victims think, nobody cares to ask.

The dirty crimes – A story from a police officer

It’s not just in the rape statistics that Sweden shows horrific numbers. Assault offenses have increased by 45 percent since the turn of the millennium. The total number of reported violent crimes has in the same period increased by 47 percent. If we begin in 1975, the starting year for multiculturalism, the total number of reported violent crimes has increased by a staggering 312 percent.

A rapidly growing category is mugging. In 2009, 6730 robberies were committed against individuals. The increase from 1975 is 234 percent, but is probably much higher, since muggings are sometimes classified in other ways. Behind the neutral word “mugging” hides a terrible reality that leaves the victims with severe traumas.

A very largely proportion of the victims are defenseless children, adolescents or elderly persons. A police officer who writes anonymously on the former Swedish blog Politically Incorrect (today replaced by avpixlat.info) talks about what he calls “the dirty crimes”:

“Several times a week I go home to our elderly and weak that have fallen victim of dirty crime (where someone intrudes into the apartment and deceive/abuse the old person until they get all the valuables) and ask for a descriptions of the perpetrator that committed this terrible abuse. Each time the offender is described as an immigrant from a particular ethnic group. Not once during my entire police career have I had the offenders being described as Swedes. 

The same applies to the thousands of muggings in which our children and weak are threatened and robbed on the streets. 95 percent of the hundreds of offenders that have been described to me have been identified by the victim as an immigrant. 

These crimes are characterized by a complete lack of respect for human life. I sit in front of an old person with fear in his eyes after having been attacked in his own home – the only safe place that they had left. Full of bruises and testifying about the knife threats they have just endured, and the humiliation they felt when they could not protect themselves.”

A crime wave against the elderly

A wave of crime against the elderly is sweeping through Sweden. Often they happen in a similar way. Two or three women of foreign origin follow the old ones from the bank or store. They follow through the gate and sees where the old person goes in. A moment later they ring the doorbell and ask for a glass of water, help to write a note to someone in the house or some other made-up task. While one of the women occupy the old person, the other walks around the apartment, picking up their cash and valuables. In western Sweden, 15 robberies of elderly persons occurred just last week.

“Most indications point to that the crimes are committed by the same constellation of criminals,” said Detective Inspector Ulf Christensen, who works with this type of crime in West Götaland. In plain language, Roma, but a police officer cannot say this if he wants to keep his job.

We are at war with the Swedes

The same crudity applies to robberies directed against adolescents. Ms. Petra Åkesson has in her thesis in sociology interviewed boys between 15 and 17 years convicted of mugging. She wanted to explore the reality behind the wave of muggings that has affected Malmö. The young robbers did not show any remorse or understanding that they had done something wrong. On the contrary – they bragged about who had robbed the most.

“When we’re out robbing, we wage war, we are at war with the Swedes” was a recurring argument. The boys from one school told me smiling that “there comes a great feeling through my body when we rob, you feel satisfied and happy, it feels like one has succeeded.”

To rob Swedish children and adolescents is a deliberate choice. It’s about exercising power: “For me it is power that the Swedes should lie down on the ground and kiss my feet.” “It’s so easy to mug Swedes,” says one of the boys. “When we see some Swedes that seem rich or have good phones, we mug them. The Swedes do not do anything, they just give us the stuff, they’re such wimps.”

Increasing insecurity

Who is surprised that insecurity is increasing? It is one of the multicultural society’s logical consequences. According to the 2009 Citizen poll among 4200 residents in the City of Stockholm, 72 percent of the residents of Rinkeby-Kista is so insecure in their neighborhood that they refrain from going out after darkness. In Spånga-Tensta the corresponding number is 66 percent, in Hässelby-Vällingby 63 percent, in Farsta 59 percent. In Skärholmen 71 percent do not dare go out after darkness. The fear of assault and other violent crimes is high. The most insecurity and worry is found in the immigrant-dense areas.

Let us give thanks to our politicians in all seven political parties for the fact that we live in an increasingly violent and insecure reality, since there is such an overwhelming consensus on the conduct of immigration policy that they refuse to even discuss it. Each one of us who lives in Sweden should realistically count on being robbed, beaten or subjected to other violence. In particular, a woman should not expect to be able to move freely outside, if she does not want to risk being raped. Especially if the weather is nice.

Did the politicians ever ponder the consequences before they pushed through multiculturalism and mass immigration? Did they ever think about an expected mass importation of crime? I allow myself to doubt, on two grounds: authentic observations of politician’s brain power in general, and the observation that they have moved themselves to safety in their white ethnic enclaves.

Not a single politician wants to halt the progression

Neither of the two political blocs seems to regard the rapes and other violent crimes against Swedes as a problem. In any case, there are no hints of any attempt at political actions to stop the growing and increasingly brutal violence. Hitherto NOT ONE politician in the seven parliamentary parties has stood up and said: “This development is unacceptable. We must by all means try to stop it.” Not one! They regard it as below their dignity to even discuss the issue. This is since they know that if they deal with crime, they must also deal with the irresponsible immigration policies. And that is a sacred cow that must not be slaughtered. Security for the population is apparently nothing that concerns them. The rape epidemic and the other crime are a non-issue and certainly not a topic for the election. But is there any question that is more important than people’s safety and security?

“When I met Justice Minister Beatrice Ask for an interview in March, I asked her if she was concerned about the overrepresentation of immigrants in BRA’s statistics. She replied that she is not. The problem is the crime itself, not the perpetrators descent.” (Ms. Paulina Neuding, in the Swedish newspaper the Svenska Dagbladet, April 11, 2010.)

The same Ms. Neuding writes in the liberal magazine Neo:

Britain is suffering the results of earlier mistakes in its immigration policy.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Siv Jensen, the 44-year-old leader of the Progress party who cites Baroness Thatcher as her inspiration, said: "What I have seen that the UK has done is to give in to the claims of sharia councils, and I don't think we should give into that. In Norway we have one law, and that is the Norwegian law."

Miss Jensen, who is unmarried, said Britain was suffering the results of earlier mistakes in its immigration policy.

"I see some problems arising – You've had problems with riots, you've had problems with radical groups who aren't very fond of democratic systems and freedom of speech, and I think those are criteria that you really have to stick to in the modern world."

Miss Jensen's party has grown to become Norway's third largest since it was launched in the 1970s, pushing a libertarian economic and social policy, combined with a vehemently anti-immigrant, anti-Islamic stand.

Ahead of parliamentary elections this Sunday, she could now enter into coalition for the first time with the more centrist Conservatives, who hold a wafer thin poll lead over their rivals Labour.


"We are ready to take on the responsibility," Miss Jensen said.

Miss Jensen has steered her party to recovery since the aftermath of the twin attacks mounted two years ago by far-Right terrorist Anders Breivik, a former party member. The party's support dropped to 12 per cent but a softening in her rhetoric since the attacks has helped them recover.

"Siv Jensen used to talk about 'the hidden Islamisation of Norway', and she doesn't do that any more," said Martine Aurdal, political editor of the Dagbladet newspaper and Miss Jensen's biographer.

In recent months the party has published a hard-hitting 'Immigration sustainability report', while she has allowed other members of her party a free voice.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, who leads the party in Oslo, speaks about a cultural war with Islam.

"We can't celebrate Christmas in school, we can't sing Christmas Carols," he told the Telegraph. "This is a small part of our culture, which is being washed away gradually, and its very painful. We gave them a home, and now it's us who are having to adapt to their culture."

The report recommends the number of non-Western immigrants coming to Norway from close to 20,000 a year to about 1,500 a year.

To do this, it recommends renegotiating international refugee treaties, making it more difficult to get citizenship, and curtailing the rights of Norwegian citizens from non-Western countries to bring over their families.

Traditional Islamic marriages would not count as marriages for immigration purposes, while a spouse would need to have studied for seven years after primary school to be eligible to come to Norway, effectively ruling out family reunion with spouses from most Islamic and less developed countries.

When asked about the proposal to make Islamic marriages ineligible, Miss Jensen stressed that the report was not yet official party policy.

Miss Jensen rejected any comparison of her party's ideas on to those of Breivik. "I haven't really spent much time reading his crazy theories, but what he did was just very awful and he attacked our democracy and I think here, nobody blames us for his actions. That would be absurd."

Boys in Custody and the Women Who Abuse Them

The older authority figure wins the trust of the young target by cultivating a false friendship, having heart-to-heart conversations, giving gifts, offering protection. And then the sex ensues, sometimes forced, sometimes seemingly consensual.

It is a classic predatory tactic known as “grooming,” and no one familiar with it could have been terribly surprised when a new report from the U.S. Department of Justice declared that young people in the country’s juvenile detention facilities are being victimized in just this way. The youngsters in custody are often deeply troubled, lacking parents, looking for allies. And the people in charge of the facilities wield great power over the day-to-day lives of their charges.

What was a genuine shock to many was the finding that in the vast majority of instances, it was female staff members who were targeting and exploiting the male teens in their custody.

The phenomenon -- a particularly unexamined corner of the nation’s long-troubled juvenile justice system – presents an array of challenges for those concerned about better protecting young people in custody: encouraging male teens to understand such sex is, in fact, a crime, that it is never really consensual, and that its long term effects can be seriously harmful; requiring corrections officials to stop blaming the young boys and meaningfully punish the female staffers; and establishing standards of conduct meant to end the abuse.

“Many corrections leaders continue to minimize this abuse, arguing that it’s the kids who are manipulating the staff, that these boys are asking for it,” said Lovisa Stannow, executive director of the California-based nonprofit Just Detention International, which advocates for the elimination of prison rape. “That’s simply not good enough.”

The Justice Department first discovered the startling form of abuse in 2010, when it surveyed more than 9,000 youngsters living in juvenile halls and group homes. More than 10 percent of the respondents said they’d been sexually abused by staff and 92 percent said their abuser was female.

In the last three years, the numbers haven’t changed much.

The Justice Department released its second report last month, and this time researchers surveyed more than 8,700 juveniles housed in 326 facilities across the country. In all, the facilities house more than 18,000 juveniles, representing about one quarter of the nation’s total number of youngsters living in detention centers.

Drawing on their sample, Justice Department researchers estimate that 1,390 juveniles in the facilities they examined have experienced sex abuse at the hands of the staff supervising them, a rate of nearly 8 percent. Twenty percent who said they were victimized by staff said it happened on more than 10 occasions. Nine out of 10 victims were males abused by female staff.

Nearly two-thirds of the abused youngsters said that the officials lured them into sexual relationships by giving them special treatment, treating them like a favorite, giving gifts and pictures.

Twenty-one percent said staff gave them drugs or alcohol in exchange for sex.

Stannow said that the rate of abuse perpetrated by female guards on male victims is the result of a “dangerous combination” of cultural and institutional problems, not the least of which is the fact that women forcing males into sex does not comport with society’s conventional definition of rape.

“When you have an extreme power differential and absolute unchecked power, bad things start happening,” Stannow said. “When you combine this with a culture where sex abuse by females on males isn’t taken seriously, then you have the perfect set-up for women with all this power to get away with it.”

Stannow and others say that the young male victims themselves may not even consider their relationships with women to constitute sex abuse. They might consider it consensual because they didn’t actively fight off their abusers.

“The biggest concern for me is what this means they’re not getting inside detention, which is a positive relationship with adults and with authority figures. They’ve not learned what those positive relationships should be like, and, for many, they’ve never had them in their life,” said Michele Deitch, an attorney and senior lecturer at the University of Texas’s School of Public Affairs in Austin.

“These boys aren’t getting the kinds of treatment and programming that are supposed to make them more productive citizens and healthier youth,” said Deitch, who focuses on improving safety conditions in prisons and juvenile detention centers. “Many have experienced trauma their entire lives and now this is just more trauma for them to deal with.”

Reggie Wilkinson, the former director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, said that consensual sex between a corrections officer and an inmate is impossible given the power imbalance between the two.

But he also said that, in some cases, both female guards and the boys they molest share some responsibility.

“There’s no such thing as consensual sex when you are supervising someone, regardless of their age, but the reality of it is that some of the guys in prison are very persuasive and some of the women are very persuasive,” Wilkinson said.

“I’m not sure anybody has got a real handle on why the Bureau of Justice Statistics is finding these kinds of numbers, but it’s on the radar screen of a lot of people.”

Wilkinson and Stannow agree that it is important to keep women as detention facility personnel. They often do great work. But the predators, they say, must be identified, halted and prosecuted.

“I think in many cases female staff are better suited than males,” Wilkinson said. “A good mix of staff is what we always want. That so-called motherly impact is a big deal and women who are stern but fair with the inmates I think can perform that job as well as any male could.”

But what about putting some L in the LGBT recruiting agenda?Although a straight woman myself, my prior career was in lobbying — so I pretty much got paid to convince people to do stuff they didn't necessarily want to do. 

That's advertising, right? While I can't quite do the graphic design work that went into Gay Times' man-pussy ad or its "women are all stupid, frightening bitches" ad or even any of its three "get laid more" ads, I can push out a list of talking points like a mofo. 

So, following are the talking points lesbians really need to start using to recruit more women to the Sapphic Lifestyle.

• Breasts are fun. They just are.
• You know how you used to fish for compliments about your shoes from your boyfriend? Yeah, don't worry about it.

Martin Luther King: Sex Obsessed Ladies’ Man

Martin Luther King, Jr., hero of the civil rights movement, was undoubtedly a great man. He was also a ladies’ man who routinely stepped out on his wife, Coretta, sometimes with members of his own congregation. It’s doubtful whether in today’s world, where privacy is almost a forgotten concept, King could still have become famous without being destroyed by sexual scandals.

We know about King’s reputation for two reasons. First, because the FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover’s was deeply suspicious about him, believing him to be a communist (although King was, in fact, a registered Republican) and ordered his agents to spy upon King constantly. What they found wasn’t evidence of communist, but was, instead, evidence of almost compulsive womanizing. Second, his own inner circle eventually had to admit that King just couldn’t keep his pants on.

Ironically enough, the priapic Kennedy brothers, Robert and John, the same men who were revealed to have been involved in sexual scandals that included mafia molls, movie stars, virgins, and orgies, were impressed when Hoover told them about the scope of King’s activities. In later recordings, Jackie Kennedy Onassis said, without a hint of irony, that “I can’t see a picture of Martin Luther King without thinking, you know, that man’s terrible.” According to Jackie, Bobby Kennedy to that King “was calling up all these girls and arranging for a party of men and women, I mean, sort of an orgy.”

Even King’s friends had to concede that King had a hard time keeping his pants on. Rev. Ralph Abernathy, one of King’s fellow civil rights campaigners and the man who was at King’s side when he died, admitted in 1989 that King did indeed have a “weakness for women.” Although King, an ordained minister, fully understood the Bible’s prohibition on adultery, Abernathy wrote that “It was just that he had a particularly difficult time with that temptation.”

Even on the last night of his life (not that King knew he would be killed the following day, of course), Abernathy describes how King had sex with two women simultaneously and then, later, had sex with yet a third woman. Indeed, that evening, which followed King’s “I’ve been to the mountaintop” speech saw King entertaining a revolving door of women.

In the years since Abernathy told his story, others who claim to have been there at the time dispute his narrative of events. One of the women Abernathy hinted slept with King, Georgia Davis Powers, says that, while she was in King’s hotel room, all that they did was talk. Abernathy, however, stuck to his version until the day he died.

The fact was that, as King told a friend, sex was the only thing that relaxed him. “I’m away from home 25 to 27 days a month. F*****g’s a form of anxiety reduction.” He developed long-term relationships with three women, but was perfectly content to take whatever came along when he was on the road. Invariably, though, because of his fame, King could have his pick of women. He liked light-skinned black woman, with model-like looks.

King’s behavior wasn’t unusual for the circles in which he traveled. All of the early civil rights preachers apparently had sex on their minds. Many who observed them said that sexual charisma was part of their appeal. For these pastors, sex with female congregants was the norm, not the exception. Michael Harrington, one of the activists involved in the civil rights movement at the time, explained that the movement was “not at all a sour-faced, pietistic” effort. Instead, “Everybody was out getting laid.’ Or trying to.”

King’s circles apparently had sex wherever and whenever they wanted. When King traveled to Norway in 1964 to collect the Nobel Peace Prize, hotel security was appalled to discover that the men who traveled with him were chasing naked, or near-naked, prostitutes down the hotel halls. Hotel management, however, was convinced to keep quiet about the matter.

Meanwhile, King insisted that his wife, Coretta Scott King, stay home raising their four daughters. Indeed, he had very little interaction with her or with her child-rearing decisions. Even cloistered in her home, Coretta was no fool. She knew that King was carousing but, as she once admitted, “I just wouldn’t have burdened him with anything so trivial . . . all that other business just didn’t have a place in the very high-level relationship we enjoyed.”

Sometimes it’s useful to remember that, at least with men, the same energy and courage that leads some of them to true greatness, is coupled with an overwhelming sex drive – and a sense of entitlement that both powers their public endeavors and, they believe, their private ones.

The real purpose of the gay agenda.

A Christian photographer who declined to shoot a same-sex ‘commitment ceremony’ has been told by a US Supreme Court that she must “compromise” her beliefs to accommodate other views.

In 2006 Vanessa Willock approached Elane Photography, owned by Elane and Jonathan Huguenin, to request that they photograph a ‘commitment ceremony’ between herself and another woman.

But Mrs Huguenin turned the job down saying it conflicted with her and her husband’s Christian beliefs.
Complaint

Miss Willock found a different photographer for her ceremony but still filed a complaint against Elane Photography.

The case has made its way to the highest court in New Mexico where it has ruled against Elane Photography ordering Mr and Mrs Huguenin to compromise their beliefs and photograph same-sex ceremonies.

Justice Richard C. Bosson wrote: “At its heart, this case teaches that at some point in our lives all of us must compromise, if only a little, to accommodate the contrasting values of others”.
Compromise

He added: “That compromise is part of the glue that holds us together as a nation, the tolerance that lubricates the varied moving parts of us as a people”.

“In short, I would say to the Huguenins, with the utmost respect: it is the price of citizenship”, he said.

Representing Elane Photography, the Christian legal organisation Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), said: “Government-coerced expression is a feature of dictatorships that has no place in a free country. This decision is a blow to our client and every American’s right to live free”.

The New Mexico Supreme Court upheld an earlier ruling from a lower court.

Earlier this month a Christian bakery hit the headlines after being put under investigation by state officials because it declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple in Oregon, USA.
Threats

The owners of “Sweet Cakes”, Aaron and Melissa Klein, said they were trying to protect their religious conscience when they refused to sell a cake to Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer for their gay wedding.

Mr and Mrs Klein have received death threats, hate mail and have lost half of their customers since the incident in January.

Rebels Admit Responsibility for Chemical Weapons Attack

Militants tell AP reporter they mishandled Saudi-supplied chemical weapons, causing accident

 

Syrian rebels in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta have admitted to Associated Press journalist Dale Gavlak that they were responsible for last week’s chemical weapons incident which western powers have blamed on Bashar Al-Assad’s forces, revealing that the casualties were the result of an accident caused by rebels mishandling chemical weapons provided to them by Saudi Arabia.

 

"From numerous interviews with doctors, Ghouta residents, rebel fighters and their families….many believe that certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the (deadly) gas attack,” writes Gavlak.

 

Rebels told Gavlak that they were not properly trained on how to handle the chemical weapons or even told what they were. It appears as though the weapons were initially supposed to be given to the Al-Qaeda offshoot Jabhat al-Nusra.

“We were very curious about these arms. And unfortunately, some of the fighters handled the weapons improperly and set off the explosions,” one militant named ‘J’ told Gavlak.

His claims are echoed by another female fighter named ‘K’, who told Gavlak, “They didn’t tell us what these arms were or how to use them. We didn’t know they were chemical weapons. We never imagined they were chemical weapons.”

Abu Abdel-Moneim, the father of an opposition rebel, also told Gavlak, “My son came to me two weeks ago asking what I thought the weapons were that he had been asked to carry,” describing them as having a “tube-like structure” while others were like a “huge gas bottle.” The father names the Saudi militant who provided the weapons as Abu Ayesha.

According to Abdel-Moneim, the weapons exploded inside a tunnel, killing 12 rebels.

“More than a dozen rebels interviewed reported that their salaries came from the Saudi government,” writes Gavlak.

If accurate, this story could completely derail the United States’ rush to attack Syria which has been founded on the “undeniable” justification that Assad was behind the chemical weapons attack. Dale Gavlak’s credibility is very impressive. He has been a Middle East correspondent for the Associated Press for two decades and has also worked for National Public Radio (NPR).

The website on which the story originally appeared - Mint Press (which is currently down as a result of huge traffic it is attracting to the article) is a legitimate media organization based in Minnesota. The Minnesota Post did a profile on them last year.

Saudi Arabia’s alleged role in providing rebels, whom they have vehemently backed at every turn, with chemical weapons, is no surprise given the revelations earlier this week that the Saudis threatened Russia with terror attacks at next year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi unless they abandoned support for the Syrian President.

“I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us,” Prince Bandar allegedly told Vladimir Putin, the Telegraph reports.

The Obama administration is set to present its intelligence findings today in an effort prove that Assad’s forces were behind last week’s attack, despite American officials admitting to the New York Times that there is no “smoking gun” that directly links President Assad to the attack.

US intelligence officials also told the Associated Press that the intelligence proving Assad’s culpability is “no slam dunk.”

As we reported earlier this week, intercepted intelligence revealed that the Syrian Defense Ministry was making “panicked” phone calls to Syria’s chemical weapons department demanding answers in the hours after the attack, suggesting that it was not ordered by Assad’s forces.

The Top Five Ways That White Feminists Continue To Discredit Women of Color

1) Say we are too “involved” or biased in regards to the subject, and claim that you are more “objective”.

This is frequently done to silence people who are trying to tell their own story. Academia is famous for this, but it happens outside academia as well. For example, who are the acknowledged “experts” about our cultures, religions, and lives? Why are there white upper-class men teaching Women’s studies, white upper-class women teaching African or Latin American studies, and white upper-class Christians or atheists teaching Islamic studies? Why does the media go to people outside the group they are speaking about to ask their opinion and views on a subject? The claim is that people of color and women are not “objective”. Especially in regards to religion, this is frequently thrown out there when discussing “Eastern” religions like Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism; we are viewed as too biased to speak about our own history, culture and beliefs. 

2) Say we are ignorant of the subject, even though the subject is our own life, history, culture or religion, because we have dared to speak to our own story and question the way outsiders have portrayed it. This includes questioning our academic background (or lack of), our writing style/ability, and whether or not we cite “accepted” texts to prove our points. 

So called “experts” are the most obvious examples of this, and this ties in with
number one above, but it is also enacted regularly by non-experts. The blogging world, for example, is full of people who think they know about something because they read it on-line or have a friend of a friend who experienced xyz, and then they use this as a means to say that this is the only version that is valid. Rarely are women of color allowed to speak to our own experience, to say that we were mistreated or discriminated against without someone else claiming that we are “reading too much into it”. Similarly, if we speak of the beauty and empowerment we have found in our own culture or religion, there is someone quick to dismiss it as an anomaly or us not knowing enough about where we come from to realize the intricate workings of oppression inherent in what we have stated we are not oppressed by. 

3) Speak condescendingly towards us. Tell us we are too young or too old, naïve or bitter, and that we are angry or emotional, etc. 

This is one of the most offensive things done by other women. We all recognize it when done by men, and we all rally around the anger and hurt that it causes then, but some of us experience it more frequently from our fellow women. Women of privilege regularly say these things to women of color as a way of silencing our questioning of their intentions, goals, and strategies. Rather than engaging why we are angry, we are dismissed for expressing deep emotion. Rather than accepting the opinions of a woman that differ, it is said that she is “old school” or “out of touch” or that she is too cynical because of past experience and therefore not giving the new guard a chance. Young women who come full of energy and new ideas are discouraged from changing the way things have been done and told that they are ignorant of the big picture. Act as though you are protecting us, mentoring us, looking out for our good – basically patting us on the head and telling us to pipe down. 

4) Pull out your “credentials” to show that you have more support and legitimacy than we do.

This ties in with the idea of “experts” but goes one farther. If writing for a large feminist blog, the offending woman will say that the size of the blog is proof of her legitimacy. She will claim to have many followers, and her followers can’t be wrong, so she must be saying something right. She will point to a woman of color’s blog and say that it is small, or accuse her of the bad grammar, unprofessional writing, and “hating” to show that her blog and writing is more appropriate, thereby her ideas must also be more correct. If the white feminist has been published in magazines or has published books, she will point to these as further proof of her credentials and acceptance from the larger society, mocking the woman of color who has not attained this sort of approval even if the woman of color doesn’t want to be published. 

5) Say we are hurting the cause of feminism, or that we aren’t really feminist at all.

This one is perhaps the most damaging of all. First, it presumes that we consider ourselves “feminist” at all and thereby implies that there is something wrong with us if we don’t. Then it attempts to define what feminism is, what counts as feminism, and tells us that we aren’t really part of it, while trying to shame us and discount anything we have to say because it is “not feminist”. It does not allow that feminism could have different forms and faces, but limits it to what serves the white woman and nothing more. If, as women, we cannot set our own goals, speak to our own needs, and create our own agenda, then how “feminist” are you? Ignoring us, pushing our concerns to the back, this is what is really hurting the “Movement”. It is arrogant for certain women to sit in judgment of other women and whether or not they should be allowed into the ranks or allowed to use a label. But then, that’s probably why so many women of color are throwing away the label of our own accord. We don’t want to be confined to your self-serving definition.

The Barren Wombs of Smart Women

A statistical analysis from England suggests that a woman’s IQ is inversely proportional to her desire to breed. This, in turn, suggests that the world will grow dumber with every new day.

In his book The Intelligence Paradox, London School of Economics researcher Satoshi Kanazawa surveyed data from the United Kingdom’s National Child Development Study. Controlling for variables such as education and income, he reached the following conclusions:

• With each increase of 15 IQ points, a woman’s urge to reproduce is diminished by 25%.

• The average IQ of women who want children is 5.6 points lower than those who don’t want them.

• Among all 45-year-old women in England, 20% are childless, but this figure rises to 43% among those with college degrees.

The paradox is that women who are measurably more intelligent based on IQ tests are dumber in terms of evolutionary survival instincts. Kanazawa writes:

If any value is deeply evolutionarily familiar, it is reproductive success. If any value is truly unnatural, if there is one thing that humans (and all other species in nature) are decisively not designed for, it is voluntary childlessness. All living organisms in nature, including humans, are evolutionarily designed to reproduce. Reproductive success is the ultimate end of all biological existence.

Kanazawa’s findings correlate with a 2010 Pew survey that found women ages 40-44 with a master’s degree or higher are 60% more likely to be childless than women who never graduated high school.

“Dumber people tend to invest as much thought into reproduction as they do to defecation.”

 

Kanazawa is widely known as a “controversial” researcher, which is coded speech meaning that his results cause significant discomfort among those who swallow the reigning cultural dogma. In the past he has faced disapprobation, ridicule, and even job dismissal for publishing studies that claim black women are less attractive than women of other races due to their higher testosterone levels, sub-Saharan Africa’s poverty is caused by low IQ, intelligent men are less likely to cheat on their partners, and attractive people are more likely to produce female offspring. He also wrote that if Ann Coulter had been president in 2001, she would have dropped nuclear bombs on the Middle East and won the War on Terror “without a single American life lost.”

Kanazawa’s persistent provocations raise the issue of whether he can do his job effectively in a multi-ethnic, diverse and international institution.

His statistical findings do not jibe with our cultural dogma.

Despite all the jeers and catcalls, Kanazawa defends his research:

The only responsibility scientists have is to the truth. Scientists are not responsible for the potential or actual consequences of the knowledge they create.

The most egregious blasphemy one can utter in today’s insanely stifling and repressive climate of intolerant egalitotalitarianism is to gently suggest that genetics play any role in determining intelligence differences and relative prosperity between individuals and social groups.

Yet (grab a hankie) that’s what the evidence suggests.

Top Italian history professor blames fall of Rome on rise of homosexuality

A professor is facing calls to resign after blaming the collapse of the Roman Empire on homosexuality.

Roberto De Mattei, a devout Roman Catholic, had already raised eyebrows by saying the Japanese tsunami was ‘divine punishment’.

In a radio interview, the vicepresident of Italy’s prestigious Centre for National Research said: ‘The collapse of the Roman Empire and the arrival of the Barbarians was due to the spread of homosexuality.

‘The Roman colony of Carthage was a paradise for homosexuals and they infected many others.’

The 63-year-old added: ‘The invasion of the Barbarians was seen as punishment for this moral transgression.

‘It is well known effeminate men and homosexuals have no place in the kingdom of God.

‘Homosexuality was not rife among the Barbarians and this shows God’s justice comes throughout history.’

Professor De Mattei is a close friend of education minister Maria Stella Gelmini and controversial prime minister Silvio Berlusconi who once said: ‘Better to love girls than be gay.’

Last night fellow historians, gay rights groups and politicians expressed outrage. Paola Concia, an MP with the Democratic Left, said: ‘I have tabled an urgent call for the education minister to intervene.’

Italian homosexual groups said the professor’s comments were ‘based on superstition, ridiculous and outrageous’ and called on him to resign from his Rome-based post.

Historian Emilio Gabba, a leading light in Roman history, said: ‘It is highly improbable homosexuality led to the fall of the Roman Empire.’

Professor Lellia Cracco Ruggini, an expert on Roman history from Turin University, said: ‘There is no proof Rome had a high number of homosexuals. I can safely say Rome did not fall because it was gay.’ However research would seem to suggest homosexuality was rife in ancient Rome.

The 18th century expert Edward Gibbon wrote that ‘of the first 15 emperors, Claudius was the only one whose taste in love was entirely correct’.

Homosexuality is widely portrayed in ancient Roman art and was seen as acceptable 2,000 years ago.

Science Of Sex: 4 Harsh Truths About Dating And Mating

To make the best decisions, we cannot delude ourselves.

I’ve posted many studies offering hope and inspiration but to be honest and fair, we also need to look at facts about people many like to deny.

And that’s where the science of sex comes in.

If you wish to retain illusions that the realm of sex and relationships is pure as the driven snow or that outside of physical dimensions there are no fundamental differences between men and women, turn back now as I am about to open a large can of peer-reviewed whoop-ass.

Naive romantics, I warn you one last time:

ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER HERE

So what are some harsh truths that the science of sex has shown us?

1) Those things we say we hate actually make us more attracted to people.

When someone plays hot-cold, keeps you guessing, makes you constantly uncertain?

Yeah, that makes you even more attracted:

Participants in the uncertain condition were most attracted to the men-even more attracted than were participants who were told that the men liked them a lot. Uncertain participants reported thinking about the men the most, and this increased their attraction toward the men.

Playing hard to get? It works.

Had it up to here with narcissists? No, we haven’t because they really are more attractive.

You know what we like about them the most? 

The worst parts – their entitlement and exploitativeness:

…narcissism leads to popularity at first sight. Second, the aspects of narcissism that are most maladaptive in the long run (exploitativeness/entitlement) proved to be most attractive at zero acquaintance.

2) Yes, guys are pretty shallow.

The stereotypes are true: men want sex more than women and, yeah, guys are more likely to hit on girls with big boobs.

(Most of us didn’t need scientific studies for that but, hey, I’m thorough.)

Studies show that often the main reason men kiss is to progress toward sex. The main reason men cuddle after sex is… to get more sex:

…females were more likely to engage in post-coital behaviors related to bonding with both short- and long-term partners, whereas males were more likely to engage in ones that were extrinsically rewarding or increased the likelihood of further coital acts.

What determines how much a guy spends on an engagement ring? The younger the woman, the more he spends:

The total spent on rings was positively correlated to the annual incomes of both men and women but negatively correlated to women’s ages. 

Research shows, if men didn’t need to impress women, they probably wouldn’t leave the couch:

The results show that if there were no returns to career choices in the marriage market, men would tend to work less, study less, and choose blue‐collar jobs over white‐collar jobs.

Statistics show men are about as likely to cheat on their wives as they are to experience a flight delay.

Not dark enough for you?

Guys are more likely to cheat when their wives are pregnant:

Controlling for marital dissatisfaction and demographic variables, infidelity was predicted by greater neuroticism and lower religiosity; wives’ pregnancy also increased the risk of infidelity for husbands.

3) Women can be quite dastardly too.

The science of sex tells us that the romantic comedies lie. Sex is an area where nice guys do finish last:

In one survey of men, Trapnell and Meston (1996) found that nice guys who were modest, agreeable, and unselfish were disadvantaged in sexual relationships. Men who were manipulative, arrogant, calculating, and sly were more sexually active and had a greater variety of sexual experiences and a greater number of sex partners.

Women are very often attracted to bad boys like James Bond. In fact, research shows young women sometimes prefer out-and-out jerks:

In the end, young women may continue to claim that they find certain qualities in a “good guy” nice guy as highly desirable and that they want to be in a committed relationship with one man as their ultimate goal, but, at the same time, they seem content to spend “the meantime and in- between-time” going out with fun/sexy guys who may or may not turn into “jerks.”

Happy guys, it seems, can be a turn-off:

…happiness was the most attractive female emotion expression, and one of the least attractive in males. 

What do studies say can make a man more attractive? Among other things, a flashy car and throwing money around. Yes, that works.

Women find married men more attractive than single men:

…a group of women again rated photographs of men for attractiveness. The photos were accompanied by short descriptions, and when the men were described as “married,” women’s ratings of them went up.

And they find sexist men more appealing than non-sexist men, too. Wow.

4) Little of the above will be changing anytime soon.

This is the science of sex, not the culture of it. Most, if not all, of these things are true around the world.

In a study of over 1000 participants in 3 dozen cultures it was consistently found that men are focused on looks and women on status:

Several standard sex differences replicated across cultures, including women’s greater valuation of social status and men’s greater valuation of physical attractiveness.

But we grow out of it, right? Nope.

Our tastes do not mature as we get older:

Findings suggest that although emerging adults believe that their peers’ mating desires change systematically over time, emerging adults’ self-reported mating desires vary little with age.

In fact, when men and women are in nursing homes, the guys are still looking for hot younger women and the ladies are still interested in men of high status:

Across the life span, men sought physical attractiveness and offered status-related information more than women; women were more selective than men and sought status more than men.
