In new window Print all 91% of the Pregnant Women Who Visit Planned Parenthood Have Abortions
91% of the pregnant women who visit Planned Parenthood have abortions.
Life News reported:
As LifeNews reported last week, a new annual report the Planned Parenthood abortion business released shows it helped fewer pregnant women with prenatal care and the number of pregnant women it referred for adoptions declined as well.
The report also breaks down the “services” Planned Parenthood offers in addition to abortions. Planned Parenthood has always come under fire from pro-life groups for doing hundreds of thousands of abortions by providing little in the way of help for pregnant woman wanting to keep their baby or considering adoption. The new report shows that hasn’t changed.
The new document the abortion organization posted shows Planned Parenthood did 329,445 abortions in 2010 while it provided prenatal care to only 31,098 women and referred only 841 women to adoption agencies.
The number of women receiving prenatal care dropped significantly from 2009 to 2010, as the abortion business helped 40,489 women in 2009 — meaning almost 10,000 fewer women received prenatal support from Planned Parenthood last year than the year prior, or a drop of almost 25 percent.

Planned Parenthood Says Its Goal In Africa Is To Increase Abortions 82% By 2015
(CNSNews.com) — In its strategic plan for the Africa Region for 2010 to 2015, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) states that it is working toward an 82 percent increase in abortion services.
That number is in Figure 2, the “performance framework” of the plan (page 7), under “performance milestones/benchmarks” and notes its expectation of an “82 percent increase in abortion services: 212,021 services by 2013, and 273,656 by 2015.”
CNSNews.com asked Paul Bell, senior communication officer with IPPF based in the United Kingdom, a series of questions about the group’s strategic plan, including whether the 82 percent increase and the more than a quarter million “abortion services” projected by 2015 represent abortion specifically or abortion and other services.

Hate speech against Tim Tebow
You may recall that before Tim went pro, the Christian group, Focus on the Family, commissioned an innocuous TV ad that ran during the 2010 Saints-Colts Super Bowl game. It briefly told the story of the Tebows’ pre-natal struggle. The word “abortion” was never even uttered, but a positive portrayal of childbearing was all it took.
And so began the left’s hate affair with Tim Tebow. Radical feminist groups, media-types and liberal pundits alike lost their collective noodle even before the ad ran.
Erin Mattson, vice president of The National Organization for Women (NOW), told ABC News that Tim’s story of survival was “really quite offensive. … This ad is hate masquerading as love!” she barked. Tim wasn’t dismembered alive and scraped in pieces from his mother’s womb, you see.
The New York-based Women’s Media Center launched a failed censorship petition drive to pull the ad, framing it as an “attack on choice.” Get it? Pam Tebow chose alright; she just happened to make the wrong “choice,” and dared to share about it publicly.
But as a Denver Bronco, Tim Tebow’s profile has grown exponentially. So too has the left’s hatred for him. This is due in large part to his very open Christian faith. After each game, Tim begins by thanking God: “First and foremost, I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
And who hasn’t heard of “Tebowing,” wherein one drops to a knee in prayer?

Planned Parenthood encourages ‘young children’ to masturbate
NEW YORK, December 13, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Planned Parenthood’s main website encourages pre-pubescent children to masturbate. On a section of the site with ‘info for teens’ a Q&A presents the question “Is it normal to masturbate before puberty?” The answer begins, “The myth is that it’s abnormal for children to masturbate. The truth is that masturbation is a perfectly healthy activity at any age.”
The news comes as little surprise to Dr. Judith Reisman the researcher who discovered that in the late 1950s sexologist Alfred Kinsey had data relating to masturbation of babies, which was later discovered to have been undertaken for Kinsey by a pedophile.
Dr. Reisman, Visiting Professor of Law at Liberty University School of Law, told LifeSiteNews that Planned Parenthood has been encouraging young children to masturbate “for decades.” She said that the devastation resulting from such “early childhood sexual trauma” can lead to addiction to orgasm, for which there now exists technical terms - “Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) and, Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS).”
To sign a petition to defund Planned Parenthood, click here.
Reisman noted various cases in which women have become so addicted to the practice they have sued their employers to allow them to engage in such self-abuse while at work even to use the Internet for stimulation. One such case in Brazil is that of Ana Catarina Bezerra Silvares.
“It’s not at all unusual for young children to masturbate,” counsels Planned Parenthood. The website adds: “experts recommend that parents teach children that it’s normal for people to touch their sex organs for pleasure — but that it should be done in private.”
“Along with scores of other sexual disorders resulting from early sexual trauma, there are now enough women suffering from this painful state,” says Reisman. “Ain’t sexual liberation great?” she asked sarcastically.
Dr. Reisman concluded, “Kinsey apparently died from trauma associated with his masturbation (‘orchitis’) and one wonders how many Planned Parenthood ladies suffer from these same states of trauma and just seek to spread the disease in order for them to feel normal—as did Kinsey.”

Planned Parenthood completely defunded in Tennessee

Pro-life advocates in Tennessee can breathe a sigh of relief, now that their years-long battle to defund Planned Parenthood in the state has reached its conclusion.
Late last month, Shelby County, the final county in the state where Planned Parenthood was still receiving taxpayer dollars, announced that it was awarding a nearly $400,000 contract to Christ Community Health Services (CCHS), instead of Planned Parenthood. This is reportedly the first time in 35 years where Planned Parenthood has not received the contract in the county.
Two years ago, the state’s General Assembly had passed a law handing over family planning responsibilities to county health departments. However, two counties, Shelby and Davidson Counties, had continued to contract with Planned Parenthood.
Davidson County stopped the funding earlier this year. The decision by Shelby County means that 95 out of 95 counties in Tennessee are now no longer funding the abortion giant.
“Without question, lives will be improved, changed and saved as a result of directing these tax dollars away from Planned Parenthood’s abortion facilities in Memphis and Nashville,” said Brian Harris, president of Tennessee Right to Life. “At risk women and families will now have the opportunity to receive quality care from ethical providers whose underlying goal is not to sell an abortion.”
Tennessee pro-lifers had spent three weeks on the edge of their seats, after the final decision on whether to defund Planned Parenthood in Shelby County was delayed in late September after the organization filed an appeal.
But despite fears that Planned Parenthood would find a way to protect its funding, the Shelby County Commission voted 9-4 on October 17 to award the contract to CCHS, saying that Planned Parenthood’s appeal was without merit.
Planned Parenthood expressed its disappointment in a statement. “This decision is not in the best interest of the women and families of Shelby County and was the result of state and local political pandering,” they said. “It is unfortunate that politics trumped people’s needs.”
The abortion organization said it is exploring a “number of options” to respond, including legal action.

Planned Parenthood Tried to Force Raped Teen to Have Abortion
A newly-uncovered police report concerning a September 2008 incident reveals staff at a Kennewick, Washington Planned Parenthood doing everything possible to arrange an abortion for a 14-year-old girl who had been a victim of statutory rape by a 20-year-old man. The staff also try to keep the young girl at the Planned Parenthood center against her father’s will.
The blog site Abortion in Washington has recently obtained a copy of the September 2008 police report detailing how Planned Parenthood employee Andrea Smasne holds a 22-week pregnant young girl at the Planned Parenthood center and refuses her father’s request to return her so he could take her home.
The unnamed girl had arrived at the Planned Parenthood with her father and sister but did not want her father at the abortion center with her because she was worried about him being upset with her over the pregnancy. Meanwhile, the unnamed man who impregnated the girl was en route to the Planned Parenthood center — which apparently prompted the father to want to take his daughter home and cancel the appointment to avoid a confrontation.
The police report indicates Smasne informs the young girl she can’t get an abortion there and would have to receive a referral to a Seattle abortion center to complete the late-term abortion. She holds the young girl to complete the referral even though the girl’s father requests that she be released he can take her home. When the police arrive, Smasne even disobeys the police officer’s order to return the girl to her father, telling him that “once a minor child is pregnant she is emancipated.”
“I then asked Smasne how old the patient was. She advised the female patient [was 14-years-old],” the officer writes in the report. “I then asked why they would tell the father he had to leave if his juvenile age daughter was there. At that point Smasne stated that once the juvenile is pregnant, the juvenile is emancipated, and further stated the father had no right to be present if the patient did not want him there.”
However, the officer contacts City Attorney Eric Eisinger who explains state law and says the young girl is not emancipated and that the father has a right to take her home.
“Based on his research, a juvenile is not emancipated simply by becoming pregnant,” the officer indicates. “He stated becoming emancipated required a court process. Eisinger further advised that unless employees of Planned Parenthood provided documentation from the court indicating that [redacted] is/was emancipated, [redacted] would be required to go with her father [redacted]. I was also advised, if employees at Planned Parenthood could not provided the documentation and did not allow access to [redacted] to send her with father, I should proceed with a criminal investigation against the involved employees citing Custodial Interference Section 26.28 as the charge.”
The officer eventually returns to the abortion center to make his point with Planned Parenthood staff and requests to speak with the young girl. He talks with her for over half an hour about her situation and says Planned Parenthood staff continuously walk by the room in which he and the young girl are discussing matters in order to attempt to eavesdrop on the conversation.
Mary Emanuel, of the Abortion in Washington web site obtaining the report, comments on the police report her web site obtained.
“As the Planned Parenthood employee Smasne defies the officer and attempts to hang on to the girl despite the officer’s explanation of the law, Smasne seems determined to make sure a 22-week old baby is aborted, ignoring the officer until her referral is completed,” she says. ” To be clear, this woman disobeys a direct, lawful order from a police officer to do everything she can to ensure a 22-week-old unborn baby is aborted. That is how hell-bent on killing babies they are at Planned Parenthood.”
“Please note that the father of the baby was 20 years old. After the officer informs Smasne of this fact, she retorts that the girl’s father “did not have rights in this matter” because “according to the legal staff of Planned Parenthood” the girl was ‘emancipated,’” she adds.
Emanuel says, “Parents need to take note of Custodial Interference Section 26.28 and be prepared to use it with Planned Parenthood employees in the event their children are ever in the same situation as this same young girl. Employees of Planned Parenthood cannot interfere in the rights of parents.”
“These actions by the Kennewick Planned Parenthood are systematic of the abortion industry and part of a nationwide problem that has been so well documented by Live Action. We hope everyone has seen the their undercover videos showing the facilitation of under-age sex trafficking by Planned Parenthood and also the pattern of failure to report statutory rape and covering up for men who have sex with under-age girls who come into Planned Parenthood clinics,” she says.
The young girl eventually left with her father and the girl did not sign the referral form Planned Parenthood attempted to give her for an abortion in Seattle.

Knoxville diocese teams up with mom to fight Planned Parenthood ‘abstinence’ class
by Kathleen Gilbert
Thu Jan 27 7:15 PM EST
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, January 27, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Catholic Diocese of Knoxville has teamed up with a local mom to spread awareness of a Planned Parenthood “abstinence” class that one teen said taught anything but.
Kym McCormick learned of Planned Parenthood’s teaching material after her daughter Alaynna, a student at Hardin Valley Academy, came home last October in tears over the material presented in the class.
“I’m tired of everyone treating us like animals who can’t control themselves,” Alaynna told her mother, according to an East Tennessee Catholic News (ECTN) report. McCormick’s outrage increased after she discovered extremely explicit material directed at teens on Planned Parenthood’s website.
“Very clearly [on one of the Planned Parenthood websites], it says, ‘There is no right or wrong time to become sexually active.’ And a little bit further down, it says, ‘There are no right or wrong answers to these questions,’” Mrs. McCormick told the Catholic newspaper. “I think there are a lot of parents who believe there are right and wrong answers.”
Planned Parenthood’s website, in addition to giving explicit details on masturbation and anal sex, admonishes parents to “give babies a sense of themselves, their sexuality, and their bodies from birth” and to teach children starting at seven years old that “that people experience sexual pleasure in a number of different ways.”
McCormick said her daughter complained that a class purported to discuss abstinence, but “not one time did they say anything about abstinence.” ECTN reports that one element of Planned Parenthood’s abstinence program is to describe “outercourse” — which encompasses virtually all forms of sexual contact short of intercourse. McCormick said her attempts to discuss the material with Knox County high school officials have often been ignored.
The diocese announced it would host a meeting Thursday where Alaynna would share information on Planned Parenthood’s program - of which her parents had been given no prior notice. A Metro Pulse report claimed that a member of the school’s faculty forgot to send home the parental notification letters for the class, taught as part of the state’s required Lifetime Wellness curriculum.
Ginny Winters, a community health educator for Planned Parenthood’s Knoxville office, told Metro Pulse that Planned Parenthood is “absolutely not promoting sex” and claimed the sophomore girl was merely upset that the class controverted information she had been taught on natural family planning.
Knoxville Bishop Richard F. Stika has written mayor Bill Haslam expressing his opposition to the abortion giant’s teaching presence, calling their curriculum “a thinly veiled attempt to legitimize and promote its deadly agenda.”

‘Stop telling women abortion is dangerous’ - abortion lobby to Macedonian gov’t
SKOPJE, Macedonia, January 24, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – European abortion activists are annoyed with the tiny Balkan state of Macedonia for telling women that abortion is something that carries risks, and that they can do without.
HERA, an international abortion lobby group and affiliate of Planned Parenthood International, has criticized the Macedonian government for a media campaign titled, “Chose life – You have a right to chose,” that included warnings of the possible medical complications of abortion. These included infertility, sepsis, perforations of the uterus, complications from anesthesia and severe post-abortion mental problems.
HERA and the Macedonian Association of the Gynecologists and Obstetricians held a press conference demanding that the government change its campaign to include information on how contraception can lower abortion rates. They also demanded that sex education be instituted as a “separate discipline” in public schools and that public health insurance packages include oral contraceptives.
The campaign, they said, is “completely contradicting … current national polices for reducing the abortion rate in the country.”
The group claimed that the medical threats of abortion cited in the government campaign are common to any surgical procedure, although this is contradicted by information available from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC reports 386 deaths from legalized abortion in the U.S. between 1973 and 2004, while physical complications in the CDC report include cervical lacerations and injury, uterine perforations, bleeding, hemorrhage, serious infection, pain, and incomplete abortion in which the fetal remains are left inside the woman’s body.
Abortion is also associated with later preterm births and placenta previa (improper implantation of the placenta). Premature births are associated with higher rates of cerebral palsy, as well as respiratory, brain, and bowel abnormalities.
In Macedonia abortion is allowed under nearly any circumstance, on demand; but in January 2009, several women MPs from the ruling centre right party launched an initiative for more restrictive legislation.
The government is concerned with the country’s extremely low birth rate of 1.58 children born per woman, well under the replacement rate of 2.1. With Macedonia’s low rates of immigration, raising the birth rate could be the only answer to impending demographic, and consequent economic, collapse.

Top Companies Stop Backing Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz
Officials with Life Decisions International say that, over the last few months, more corporations have been dropped from its boycott list in a six-month time period than ever before.
“Generally speaking, between the publications of boycott lists, two or three corporations agree to stop funding Planned Parenthood,” LDI president Douglas Scott explained. “The current list was released in July 2010. So, one would expect that two or three corporations on the July 2010 boycott list will not appear on the December 2010 edition.”
“We cannot say for sure exactly why this is happening, but more corporations have been removed from the boycott list between the July 2010 and December 2010 lists than have ever been dropped in the past,” he added.
The companies no longer financially supporting the abortion business, which does more than 25 percent of the abortions in the United States annually, include Enterprise car rentals, Forbes magazine, Ing financial services and one of the more ironic entries, Toys “R” Us.
Other companies dropped from the pro-life boycott list include Cisco Systems, Red Lion Hotels, Franchise Services, Rolex watch company, Kenneth Cole and Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare.
“This means that ten corporations have been dropped from the current list,” Scott continued. “It also means that, so far, a total of at least 270 corporations have agreed to stop giving money to the abortion-committing giant! Simply remarkable.”
Scott credited pro-life advocates with consistently contacting corporate headquarters and officers letting them know of their refusal to patronize their businesses until they end their financial relationships with Planned Parenthood.
He said the next boycott list will be made available in the next week. The last one included corporations that are household names for most Americans and, also, internationally.
Some of the new companies on the boycott list the pro-life group released over the summer included AOL and Darden Restaurants, a conglomerate that oversees popular restaurants like Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille, LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Season 52.
Another restaurateur, Ignite Restaurants, made the list, and it includes Brickhouse Tavern+Tap and Joe’s Crab Shack.
Hilton Worldwide made the boycott list and it manages hotels ranging from Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns/Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Hotels, and Homewood Suites. Kohl’s department stores, Mrs. Fields cookies, and Staples office supply stores were also added.
LDI estimates that the boycott has cost Planned Parenthood more than $40 million since the Corporate Funding Project (CFP) began nearly 18 years ago.
Some of the companies that made a return appearance on the boycott list included The Gap clothing stores and Freddie Mac, the troubled government-sponsored mortgage firm. AlphaGraphics, Wells Fargo (including Wachovia), Nike, Time Warner, Bank of America, Walt Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Lost Arrow (Patagonia, etc.), Chevron, and Nationwide Insurance are among the other companies included in the boycott list again.

Planned Parenthood Should Lose Funding Over Exploting Teen for Abortion
Leading pro-life groups are reacting to the news that an Ohio judge ruled for the parents of a sexually abused teenager, on whom Planned Parenthood in Cincinnati did an abortion.
The young girl, who was fourteen at the time of the abortion, became pregnant by her 22 year-old soccer coach. Still pending in the case is a decision about Planned Parenthood’s potential violation of state parental notification laws, as well as a judgment as to the amount of damages Planned Parenthood must pay.
The abortion business did not have a proper informed consent meeting with the teenager, did not follow the state’s parental notification law and alert her parents to the abortion, and did not report the statutory rape to authorities as required under state law.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said the decision by Judge Jody Luebbers, in which she said the teen was caused significant psychological and emotional harm by Planned Parenthood, should result in the abortion business losing federal funding.
“Judge Jody Luebbers stood up to the nation’s largest abortion provider, ruling that Planned Parenthood defied state laws by not reporting suspected child abuse and not providing a mandatory counseling session – including offering pregnancy options – 24-hours prior to the abortion. Despite these kinds of abuses, Planned Parenthood is a billion-dollar-a-year organization, raking in approximately $350 million annually in state and federal grants.
“Once again, we see how Planned Parenthood has failed to protect the health and safety of women. And as we can see from this case, procuring an abortion is more important to Planned Parenthood than following the law on something as important as protecting young women from sexual predators.
“Isn’t it time to stop taxpayer funding of such a group? We call on the new Congress to act quickly on legislation introduced by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, a bill that would prohibit Title X family planning dollars being awarded to groups that provide abortion as family planning, such as Planned Parenthood.”
The Life Legal Defense Foundation, a pro-life legal group involved in the case, also commented on the decision:
Planned Parenthood lawyers claimed that Ohio’s informed consent laws did not apply to them based on an injunction issued in a previous challenge to the law, Cincinnati Womens’ Services v. Taft. The court in Taft issued an Agreed Order staying the enforcement of the statute which affected only the named defendants in the case and persons acting in concert with them.
However, on Tuesday the Judge ruled that the Agreed Order bound only the parties to the Taft case, and did not relieve PP of its duty to comply with the law since they were not a defendant in Taft. Evidence submitted to the Court indicated that PP was notified in writing by their attorney, also the attorney of record in Taft, that the A greed Order did not enjoin actions by anyone other than the named defendants in Taft.
Brian Hurley, attorney for Jane Roe, told Life Legal, “One of Planned Parenthood’s mantras is that it is very concerned about the health and safety of young girls and it does everything it can to ensure that young girls thinking about having an abortion are provided with the information and support necessary to make a voluntary and informed decision.
Judge Luebbers’ decisions expose the falsity of that mantra, both for Jane Roe and all of the other girls and women who between 1998 and 2005 Planned Parenthood deprived of their right to meet before the abortion with a medical doctor to be certain that the girls’ and womens’ decisions were informed and not coerced.”
Also, under Ohio law, any health-care professional who suspects child abuse, such as a 13-year-old engaging in sex with an adult, must report it. PP did not report in the case of Roe, who at the time of her abortion was 14 years old and the victim of sexual assault by her 22-year-old soccer coach, John Haller. Roe had the abortion in March 2004, and the abuse continued for some time after the abortion. Haller, who began having sex with the girl when she was 13, was ultimately convicted of sexual battery and served three years in prison.
The judge’s ruling leaves just one issue to be resolved at the February trial: whether PP is also liable for failure to contact Roe’s parents before the abortion, as required by Ohio’s parental involvement laws. At the time of the abortion, Roe gave Planned Parenthood workers a cell phone number she said was for her parents. Instead, the number belonged to Haller. Apparently PP made no attempt to confirm that they were speaking with Roe’s parent—an effort which might have saved Roe from much of the abuse that followed. The extent of PP’s liability for this failure remains to be determined. The case is set for trial Feb. 7. “We believe it will be a significant number.”

United Nations Promotes Spread of AIDS
Deliberately infecting others with HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS, is a particularly evil act — but not according to the baby butchers of Planned Parenthood or the wannabe one-world rulers of the United Nations:
A new campaign seeks to eliminate disclosure laws which require HIV positive individuals to inform their sex partners of their potentially deadly infection.
The campaign is led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and UNAIDS, an umbrella group of UN agencies. Notably absent from this campaign is any recognition of the danger posed for the possible victims of a willful refusal to disclose HIV status.
As part of the campaign, IPPF released a collection of interviews entitled "Behind Bars", which implies that such criminal laws fuel stigma against HIV persons.
Better a horrific and lethal disease be spread far and wide than perverts and degenerates be "stigmatized."
"Behind Bars" is part of a larger IPPF campaign, "Criminalize Hate Not HIV", launched at the International Aids Conference in Vienna in July. IPPF describes laws that make willful transmission of HIV to another person as too-costly, hindrances to prevention, and stigmatizing. The video promo for the campaign depicts various sexual scenes. The video appears to promote homosexual sex, drug use, and prostitution, which are listed by the Centers for Disease Control as three of the most high risk behaviors responsible for the transmission of HIV.
They are also three of the behaviors most likely to earn you coos of sympathy from the international liberal elite ruling class.
The Planned Parenthood and the UN have teamed up before:
IPPF and UNAIDS collaborated in sponsoring the "Stigma Index", whose website contains a major section calling for the decriminalization of HIV transmission. …
In March, IPPF made available their sex guide [EXPLICIT], "Healthy, Happy, and Hot" at a UN event sponsored by the Girl Scouts. The brochure states, "Some countries have laws that violate the right of young people living with HIV to decide whether to disclose… These laws violate the rights of people living with HIV by forcing them to disclose or face the possibility of criminal charges."
The only way to make sense of their motives is to assume that for progressives, corruption is an end in itself.

Planned Parenthood Got $349.6 Million in Tax Dollars, Performed 324,008 Abortions, Paid Its President $385,163
Link
Killing babies is their business, and business is good…
(CNS November 11, 2010)- Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in its fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 and paid its president, Cecile Richards, $385,163, plus another $11,876 in benefits and deferred compensation.
Also, according to a “fact sheet” published by the organization, Planned Parenthood Affiliate Health Centers performed 324,008 abortions in 2008.
Planned Parenthood’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 is the latest year for which the organization has publicly released an annual report and published the annual sum of grants and contracts it received from the government.
The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the organization’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.
Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year.
Planned Parenthood did not respond to repeated inquiries from CNSNews.com about Cecile Richards’ compensation.
